About the Team The Infrastructure Team is the foundational engine that powers Workday’s global operations. About the Role Workday is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP), Infrastructure to serve as a visionary executive leader during a pivotal era of transformation. This is not a "business as usual" role; it is an opportunity to redefine the backbone of a global SaaS leader. The SVP will be responsible for developing a strategic infrastructure roadmap that focuses investments on high-impact modernization, ensuring our technology environment scales seamlessly with Workday’s rapid growth. We are looking for a multi-dimensional thinker who balances seasoned experience with an appetite for market-disrupting innovations. You will be the primary architect of change, turning ambitious corporate goals into actionable, high-performance engineering milestones that establish a modern, resilient technology landscape.

Requirements

  • Executive Leadership: 15+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, with a proven track record as an executive-level leader in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Transformation Expert: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale organizational and technical transformations, moving from legacy frameworks to modern, cloud-native, and automated architectures.
  • Business Acumen: Experience consistently driving profitable results and managing large-scale global budgets while maintaining a focus on ROI.
  • Strategic Communicator: Exceptional ability to develop a mission and vision, turning abstract goals into practical plans that motivate and align global teams.
  • Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of global corporate infrastructure, architecture, and the latest marketplace developments in cloud technology and distributed systems.
  • Multi-Dimensional Thinker: A leader who operates based on past experience but remains agile enough to adopt new approaches and industry-leading innovations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent leadership training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Define and execute a global infrastructure vision that anticipates future growth, optimizes resource allocation, and integrates emerging technologies.
  • Transformational Leadership: Lead the shift toward a modern, automated, and resilient technology environment, reinventing legacy processes to improve speed-to-market and scalability.
  • Global Service Delivery: Oversee global corporate infrastructure strategy and architecture, ensuring service delivery standards are aligned with overarching company goals.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor sophisticated KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to ensure world-class system availability and performance on a global scale.
  • Executive Partnership: Serve as a key technology advisor to senior management, translating complex technical infrastructure needs into business-driven outcomes.
  • Team Empowerment: Build and scale a high-performing organization; mentor leaders, foster a culture of accountability, and ensure every team member understands the actionable steps to reach the mission.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive profitable results in a high-growth environment by balancing technical debt with the need for rapid feature deployment and infrastructure hardening.
