About The Position
UnitedHealth Group is a health care and well-being company dedicated to improving health outcomes globally. This role is responsible for leading the Real Estate team that supports UHG's diverse real estate portfolio, which includes various asset types. The position involves identifying land acquisition, investment, and development opportunities while providing strategic support and oversight to functional delivery teams. The role has a significant budget of over $1.5 billion and reports to the SVP of Corporate Services. It includes five direct reports and approximately eighty-five indirect reports in the U.S. and internationally, overseeing nearly 1,000 dedicated third-party real estate services personnel. The responsibilities encompass full lifecycle management of all real estate facilities, including managing diverse assets and negotiating leases to support manpower planning strategies. The role also involves overseeing capital expenditures for construction and alterations of office facilities, quantifying the value of corporate real estate projects, and developing systems to monitor project performance. Additionally, the position requires initiating audit and control systems to ensure compliance with statutory, policy, and contractual commitments, as well as overseeing the development of plans for opening, expanding, and maintaining future offices. The successful candidate will manage cost-effective processes for delivering workplace services, oversee new site development activities, and support the National Real Estate Strategy team. The role also includes directing long-term real estate strategies focused on optimization and cost reduction, ensuring effective real estate solutions contribute to business performance. The Real Estate Centers of Excellence will be overseen to provide strategic support for real estate needs, including lease administration and project management. The position also involves leading the Real Estate Experience team to enhance employee, patient, and provider experiences through effective design and technology solutions.
