About The Position

Gorilla Mind is a fast-growing Energy Drinks and Supplements brand in the fitness and health space. We develop and sell pre-workouts, proteins, nootropics, energy drinks, and other lifestyle products designed to help people maximize their mental and physical performance. We are seeking an experienced and well-connected SVP/EVP of Retail Sales & Channel Development to lead Gorilla Mind’s retail sales strategy, with a heavy focus on energy drink sales expansion across national/regional convenience, grocery, and mass chain accounts. This is a high-impact role requiring someone who can leverage existing relationships and industry expertise to rapidly accelerate our retail footprint across the nation, and beyond.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in the beverage industry (energy drinks, rapid growth beverages, or similar categories).
  • Proven success in managing and expanding convenience stores and national accounts.
  • Strong relationships with chain decision makers, DSD, broadliners and brokers—and the ability to activate those networks quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to win shelf space in competitive categories and drive velocity at retail.
  • Experience leading and scaling sales teams in high-growth environments.
  • Exceptional negotiation, strategic planning, and P&L management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive beverage sales strategy to drive retail expansion, with a primary focus on convenience store chains and key national accounts.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the convenience and grocery retail ecosystem to navigate buying processes, category review cycles, and deal structures.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team while remaining directly involved in managing top strategic accounts.
  • Manage trade spend to maximize ROI while building sustainable partnerships.
  • Navigate complex category management processes through strategic management of resources and timing.
  • Develop DSD network expansion strategy and optimize distributor relationships.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing and operations to ensure successful product launches, in-store execution, and long-term growth.
  • Provide executive leadership with strategic insights on market trends, competitive activity, and expansion opportunities.
  • Oversee CRM and sales tracking systems, ensuring disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting.
  • Maintain accountability for forecasting with a consistent, data-driven approach.
  • Travel as needed to meet business objectives (approx. 25–35%, with autonomy to determine cadence).
