We are actively hiring an SVP, Enterprise Architecture. Join us and support CSAA IG in achieving our goals. We're seeking a visionary Senior Vice President of Enterprise Architecture to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise technology landscape. As a strategic leader, you'll shape our technology strategy, modernizing insurance application architecture, establishing reference architectures, and driving Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption across the enterprise. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both technology and functional leaders, driving strategic alignment between business objectives and technology capabilities. This role will ensure that architectural decisions foster speed, resilience, scalability, and innovation, ultimately propelling the organization forward. By bridging the gap between business strategy and technology execution, the SVP will enable the company to achieve its goals through informed, forward-thinking decision-making.

  • Define and lead the enterprise architecture vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with CSAA’s overall business and digital transformation objectives.
  • Partner with business and IT executives to ensure technology architecture enables product innovation, operational efficiency, organizational agility, and customer delight.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, engineering excellence, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Lead modernization of core insurance applications to support digital channels, scalability, and agility.
  • Establish a modular, API-first, cloud-ready architecture that accelerates delivery of insurance products and services.
  • Define best practices for integration across legacy platforms, SaaS solutions, and emerging technologies.
  • Build and maintain an enterprise-wide application portfolio, ensuring visibility into all business-critical and supporting applications.
  • Proactively identify when applications require upgrades, retirement, or replacement based upon business value and technical fit.
  • Drive rationalization efforts to reduce complexity, cost, and redundancy while improving agility and resilience.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide reference architectures, standards, and design patterns that guide solution delivery and ensure consistency across the technology landscape.
  • Drive adoption of modern data, integration, and security architectures to enable interoperability and compliance.
  • Govern architectural decisions through transparent processes, balancing innovation with risk management.
  • Define and lead the enterprise AI architecture strategy, laying the foundation for ethical and scalable use of machine learning, generative AI, and automation.
  • Partner with data and analytics leaders to ensure the AI ecosystem is supported by robust data pipelines, platforms, and governance models.
  • Support experimentation and drive the delivery of AI-enabled use cases across claims, underwriting, fraud detection, customer service, and digital experiences.
  • Build and lead a high-performing architecture team, including enterprise, domain, solution, and data architects.
  • Mentor senior leaders and architects, instilling enterprise thinking and accountability.
  • Serve as an influential voice in the industry and represent CSAA in technology partnerships and industry groups.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years' experience in the IT field with proven hands-on technical architecture experience.
  • Proven ability to lead others as demonstrated through 7+ years of being responsible for a department or enterprise-wide / large cross-functional programs, with at least 3 of those years directly managing others.
  • Proven leadership experience in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of technologies, including AI, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and software development.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and system integration.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of technology professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven record of successfully leading major technology transformations and initiatives.
  • Creates a collaborative, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment, demonstrating authenticity and fostering trust to inspire and empower team members and colleagues.

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience directly leading others, with a track record of leading large, multi-layered teams.
  • Experience in insurance industry with deep understanding of the insurance industry and market trends, with a focus on how technology can drive business growth and innovation.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
