The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations at Mid-West Wholesale Hardware Inc. is a pivotal leadership role that encompasses the management of the company's distribution centers and the overall distribution processes. The SVP will also oversee all communications and negotiations with carriers and equipment suppliers, lead capacity planning, and drive process improvements. Additionally, the SVP will manage the Inventory Control department, ensuring inventory accuracy and control while interfacing with key suppliers and customers to enhance operational efficiencies. In this role, the SVP will provide leadership, education, support, and motivation to senior management and direct reports. They will develop a strategic plan to advance the organization's distribution objectives, focusing on customer excellence, increased revenue, profitability, and growth. The SVP will create and implement an operational roadmap that encompasses people, processes, and technology to support the business's scaling efforts. They will also lead negotiations with freight carriers in partnership with finance and supply chain teams, manage annual operating budgets for warehouse and distribution, and work closely with IT to define and deploy appropriate systems and process improvements. The SVP will define and achieve goals and KPIs for each team, oversee inventory control functions, and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. They will perform analyses, generate reports, and design processes to enhance inventory accuracy and team productivity. Furthermore, the SVP will provide regular updates and presentations to the executive leadership team regarding distribution center performance and strategic initiatives, ensuring that the organization remains aligned with its growth and operational goals.
