Responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to Pennymac’s Human Resources Division. The SVP, Associate General Counsel HR will: Advise HR’s Compliance team on federal, state and local labor and employment laws and regulations and assist with review of policies and procedures. Support HR’s Recruiting team with employment-based immigration, contractor, background check and related issues. Advise HR’s Employee Relations team on issues relating to accommodations, health and safety, disciplinary actions, terminations, reductions in force, and severance agreements. Advise HR’s Compensation team on wage and hour issues, employee and executive compensation plans, including bonus, equity incentive, retirement, 401k, and employee benefits plans. Support and manage internal and governmental workplace investigations and supervise outside counsel on arbitration and litigation matters. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Demonstrate behaviors that are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values.

Requirements

  • Education Requirement – Post-graduate JD.
  • Minimum years of experience – 10 years.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently and interact professionally with all levels of management as well as outside counsel.
  • Broad knowledge of labor and employment law is required. Litigation experience is preferred.
  • Must be highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and sound judgment are a must.
