About The Position

Summary: Under direct supervision, will support, maintain, and implement design improvements for existing products. Provides high quality technical support and timely problem solving in support of sales, quality, supply chain, production, and test departments.

Requirements

  • Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
  • Ability to read, understand and ensure compliance to customer requirements
  • Proficiet in Solidworks
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Able to read documents and computer screens
  • Able to move around an office building and up stairs
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Able to type on a computer keyboard
  • Able to communicate through a telephone
  • Able to communicate with co-workers
  • Able to use a microscope

Nice To Haves

  • At least two to five years of experience with electromechanical components and assemblies (Preferred)
  • Experience with RF products (Preferred)
  • Experience with industry and material standards: Military specifications, ASTM, SAE/AMS
  • Experience with configuration management

Responsibilities

  • Updates 3D CAD part and assembly models in SolidWorks
  • Using GD&T, creates/updates detail part and assembly drawings in accordance with ANSI Y 14.5M-2009.
  • Initiates and implements engineering change orders (ECOs)
  • Perform tolerance studies
  • Provides technical support during assembly and test processes and generates support documents as needed
  • Participates and provides dispositions in material review board meetings.
  • Assist manufacturing engineering with the design of assembly tooling
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem solving for production issues.
  • Assist with reviewing, updating, and entering new product structures into the ERP system.
  • Work with suppliers to reduce part costs and improve part quality.
