As part of the Middleby Corporation, we bring together engineering excellence and operational expertise to serve customers globally. We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support and improve the performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our existing product lines. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure continuous product improvement, resolve design-related issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

  • Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects, supplier changes, and field returns.
  • Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement product updates and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
  • Evaluate components and materials for potential obsolescence and implement suitable alternatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering (preferably in industrial equipment or foodservice manufacturing).
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), ERP systems, and engineering change processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with UL, NSF, and other applicable foodservice equipment certifications is a plus.
