About The Position

The Sustainable Investing Intern will be part of a centralized team at Principal Asset Management, focusing on enhancing the firm's sustainable investing ecosystem. This role involves collaboration with various global teams on initiatives related to client transition frameworks, engagement processes, governance, and regulatory support, contributing to the firm's commitment to sustainability in investment practices.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Environmental Studies.
  • Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities or community engagement.
  • Interest in sustainability topics and investing.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners globally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing the Climate Transition Framework for Principal Asset Management, including data infrastructure and reporting needs.
  • Support data gathering from investment team engagements for firm-level tracking and participate in reporting enhancement activities.
  • Aid in sustainable investing oversight activities, including preparation for annual investment team reviews.
  • Assist with business consulting and execution of sustainability-related regulatory projects, including CSRD and California Scope 3 climate emissions.
