About The Position

This internship is designed to provide a student at JCCC practical experience working at Johnson County Community College's Farm as well as with JCCC's Center for Sustainability on a variety of projects. Successful applicant must be willing to do farm work as well as office work.

Requirements

  • JCCC student.
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to conduct duties in a friendly, discreet and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR along with background check.
  • Travel required within local area and on campus.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with the use of designated moving equipment and/or other assistance.

  • Unofficial transcripts are required for all Adjunct faculty and Faculty positions.

Responsibilities

  • To provide labor and learn the development of the farms operations.
  • To learn and conduct proper marketing of products for a sustainable farming operation
  • Operate and maintain clean, orderly facilities and equipment, in a safe manner.
