About The Position

The Sustainability Specialist is part of the corporate Sustainability team, responsible for the data management aspect of the corporate Sustainability program and supports various aspects of the Sustainability team reporting and communication. This position plays a critical part in setting up and maintaining practices and processes that will support our disclosure, compliance, and sustainability journey. This corporate role works with all company sites, as well as corporate functional leaders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., science, engineering. computer science) or business field (e.g., business administration, finance, statistics).
  • 5 years of experience, ideally in a strong process- and quality-oriented environment.
  • Experience with data collection processes and data management system.
  • Experience in setting up new processes and/or systems in a changing environment.
  • Experience with cross-functional project management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Proficient in the use of SharePoint sites and Microsoft Teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative approach.
  • Proven continuous improvement and process excellence mindset.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in environmental science, sustainability or similar is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting sustainability initiatives in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Workiva experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sustainability Data Management
  • Understand the current Sustainability metrics mapping and associated future roadmap.
  • Manage the collection of Sustainability environmental data and track process adherence.
  • Facilitate team or site-level calls to coordinate the data collection and review, as well as escalate any issue of non-adherence .
  • Analyze data trends, coordinate the quarterly reviews of the environmental data with the Sustainability data division leads and support the preparation of quarterly dashboards.
  • Support the collection of a wider range of annual corporate metrics in preparation for annual reporting.
  • Support any activity to document and improve the data processes, introduce new metrics to the teams, propose own improvement ideas and work closely with the Internal Control team.
  • Participate in future audit readiness activities and the preparation for future third party verification for GHG emissions and other Sustainability metrics.
  • Participate in establishing Scope 3 GHG emissions assessments.
  • Responsible for incorporating Scope 3 and other data metrics related to disclosure requirements into data processes and policies.
  • Maintain the Sustainability reporting system (Workiva), ensure correct access and controls are in place and set up new reports or metrics in the system, as required.
  • Manage the Workiva Sustainability data collection sheets, assign and send the monthly/quarterly tasks to the site-level Sustainability data owners and track the status on a regular basis.
  • Monitor the Energy data management system (Resource Advisor), upload monthly reports, review escalated issues (e.g., invoice availability, data accuracy) and liaise with the customer service manager as required
  • Own and improve the ESG Site Champions and Green Teams SharePoint shared with the ESG site champions and data owners, ensure access and documentation is up to date.
  • Participate in future automation project(s) as well as any activity to improve these systems, when required
  • Support the content preparation of external disclosures, reports and assessments by gathering inputs from cross-functional teams, aggregating data, preparing metrics or documentation, and using relevant systems/platforms.
  • Maintain understanding and familiarity with current and future Sustainability regulatory requirements (e.g. Californian rules, US SEC, EU CSRD, EU Taxonomy) and Sustainability frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SASB, GRI), and support research and documentation to maintain regulatory awareness, when requested.
  • Support the Sustainability team with new initiatives.
  • Review client or supplier requests received related to ESG / Sustainability, prepare draft answers following the agreed database and process, and coordinate the cross-functional review.
  • Monitor ESG email box.
  • Support the preparation of newsletters or presentations to communicate progress, successes or findings to the organization and/or key stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of annual events and activities related to Sustainability initiatives, as required.
  • Support the Sustainability core team with various requests and analysis, including the preparation of leadership materials.
  • Manage or support specific projects, as required.
