The Facilities Engineer position at Quanex offers a unique opportunity to lead projects that directly influence the company's sustainability program. This role involves collaboration with diverse teams and departments across the organization, allowing you to be a role model in applying sustainability thinking in daily practices. You will be the go-to person for all aspects of sustainability in the North America region, keeping abreast of sustainability and regulatory developments to accelerate the delivery of Quanex's sustainability strategy. Your responsibilities will include proactively identifying and driving opportunities for continuous improvement in sustainability performance across divisions, assisting executive teams in implementation, and developing, executing, and tracking annual divisional sustainability implementation plans. You will work with product development teams to establish divisional strategies that deliver environmentally and socially beneficial products, track revenues against relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals, and help meet the Corporation's sustainability reporting requirements. Engaging employees to inspire action to reduce energy, water use, and waste generation will be a key part of your role, along with facilitating multi-site sustainability compliance activities related to packaging and materials reporting obligations. You will bring fresh thinking and creativity to reduce carbon emissions, water usage, and waste to landfill, while also collaborating with other divisions and plants internationally to share data, knowledge, and best practices.
