About The Position

The Long Beach, CA office is currently seeking a Sustainability Intern. The intern will support the LA Green Business Project by assisting with various tasks aimed at promoting sustainable business practices. This role involves on-site visits, conducting audits, filling out certification applications, conducting outreach, and tracking progress using the internal CRM system. This position may have hybrid work arrangements, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the local Long Beach, CA office.

Requirements

• HS diploma.
• Strong interest in sustainability and environmental practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using CRM software is a plus.
• Ability to be on feet for 2-3 hours.
• Ability to travel and complete field work (approx. 25-50% of travel required).
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting site visits to evaluate businesses' sustainability practices.
• Perform audits to assess compliance with green business standards.
• Complete and submit applications for green business certifications.
• Engage with local businesses and stakeholders to promote the project and its benefits.
• Monitor and update progress in the internal CRM system to ensure accurate tracking of project milestones.
