This internship with the NYPA Sustainability Team â¯is open to current SUNY Students who are interested in protecting New York's environment and supporting our transition to a carbon-free economy. The New York Power Authority's (NYPA) Sustainability Team is dedicated to advancing environmental stewardship and promoting sustainable practices within the organization and for our customers. NYPA aims to use sustainable solutions to address business and operational challenges The internship program focuses on one of two main areas: biodiversity or climate resilience depending on the intern's interests. In terms of biodiversity, the program includes water quality improvement efforts, natural carbon storage initiatives, and biodiversity and habitat improvement programs. For climate resilience, the program covers climate-hazard exposure and vulnerability analysis, as well as long-term planning for the impacts of climate change on NYPA and Canals' assets. If you are passionate about our mission - to lead the transition to a carbon-free, economically vibrant New York through customer partnerships, innovative energy solutions, community engagement and the responsible supply of affordable, clean, and reliable electricity, we are looking for you! This internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, and ends in May 2026. Applications are due:November 21 to January 1.
