About The Position

The Contract Manager (Sustainability) at Schneider Electric will play a pivotal role in supporting the contracting needs of the Sustainability Business, particularly within the Renewable Energy & Carbon Advisory (RECA) teams. This position is essential for facilitating business growth, managing risk exposure, and ensuring the smooth delivery of services to customers. The successful candidate will lead contracting efforts for the North American RECA business, collaborating closely with senior management and various stakeholders to refine and innovate contracting solutions that align with legal standards and corporate governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of experience in sales contract preparation, review, and negotiation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish is a plus.
  • Contracting or legal experience in Environmental Commodities, RECA services, or Sustainability consulting is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills capable of interacting with Senior Management, Executive Sponsors, and Client Legal and Purchasers.
  • Strategic management and thought leadership skills to manage and evolve business relationships with RECA and EcoAct leads.

  • Legal or contractual qualifications may be an advantage.
  • Experience in working in a multinational and multicultural environment is beneficial.
  • Experience or knowledge of the energy industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide market leading contractual support to SB's NAM business to facilitate business growth, manage risk exposure and allow smooth delivery of SB services to our customers.
  • Work with key SB stakeholders to manage strategic and tactical interactions to maximize business success and ensure effective relationships and collaboration.
  • Deliver exceptional and timely service to SB Sales and Client Management teams and clients.
  • Create, review, amend and risk assess various forms of contractual documentation to meet commercial, finance and legal requirements.
  • Present commercial risk assessments, mitigations and insightful solutions to senior SB leaders for informed decision making.
  • Discuss, explain and champion contractual requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts collaboratively with clients to ensure mutually successful outcomes.
  • Act as lead point of contact for contractual escalations and queries, providing effective resolutions.
  • Train colleagues, client-facing leads and new recruits in contracting and commercial rules and processes.
  • Own performance metrics of effectiveness and efficiency of contractual support and contribute to a continuous learning and improvement environment.
