As a Sustainability Associate, you’ll support the work that brings this mission to life across North America. You’ll help track environmental impact, contribute to sustainability reporting, and support initiatives that improve how we operate across retail, operations, and beyond. Come walk with us.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business (with emphasis in Supply Chain, Apparel, etc.), or a similarly related field - equivalent professional experience may also be considered
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with Excel (experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus)
  • Foundational knowledge of sustainability concepts and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, CSRD)
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, ability to summarize data and interpret
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Although this can be an entry position, we prefer 2+ years of experience in sustainability( this may include professional experience, internships, or academic experience in sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility)
  • Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) concepts or sustainability data tools
  • Interest in the outdoor apparel industry
  • Additional language skills (Spanish, Swedish, German, or French)

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data across stores, offices, and operations (energy, water, waste, packaging materials) for North America
  • Support sustainability global reporting efforts, including contributions to annual CSR reporting and frameworks like CDP and GRI
  • Help track progress toward carbon, energy, and operational sustainability goals
  • Support sustainability initiatives across retail stores and distribution centers
  • Maintain data, tools and dashboards used to monitor sustainability performance
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve environmental impact
  • Conduct research on sustainability topics relevant to the apparel and retail industry (lower impact materials, water use, chemical impacts, packaging, etc.)
  • Support alignment with internal standards and external requirements (including Extended Producer Responsibility and other regulations)
  • Monitor emerging regulations and sustainability trends across North America
  • Support internal and external sustainability communications, including progress updates and drafting yearly reporting materials
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across retail, operations, and brand functions to facilitate project implementation
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives at the Louisville office, brand-lend events, and occasional site visits
