As a key member of the Eau Palm Beach team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort. ---------------------------------------- Role Summary: The Sushi Cook(s) will be responsible for planning, prepping, setting up and providing quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. The ideal candidate should be capable of directing, training and monitoring performance of Line Cooks, while maintaining organization, cleanliness and sanitation of works areas and equipment.    This role is a flexible position (AM / PM), and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights. We have a full-time position(s) available.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of sushi bar working experience in high-volume cooking.
  • Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation, techniques, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese seafood, fish, products, and terminology.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of weights, measures, and recipe yields.
  • Advanced knife skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organizes, delegate work and follow through.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests’ orders.
  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift approximately 40-50 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull at least 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform reaching, stooping, and/or crouching motions repeatedly.
