About The Position

Our restaurant needs an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. You will prepare sushi rolls and dishes from the sushi bar. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with a variety of sushi rolling, plating, and related cooking techniques and has experience working in a busy sushi restaurant. Advanced knife cutting skills and Fish Butchery are a must. We expect our sushi chefs to be friendly and interact with customers, providing recommendations on different dishes when requested.

Requirements

  • 2 years minimum as sushi chef (Only applicants with experience will be considered)
  • Cooking and sushi-making experience
  • Food handler's card
  • Knife skills
  • Communication, time-management, and organizational abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary arts education and training (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare raw fish and other sushi ingredients
  • Roll and plate dishes
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Coordinate with wait staff to ensure an efficient flow of orders
  • Regularly take sushi bar inventory
  • Maintain a stock station for service as well as next day set up
  • Learn restaurant techniques and preparation
