About The Position

We are seeking a specialized, experienced Surveyor to join our team in support of engineering and construction operations in Poland. The Surveyor will be responsible for measuring, collecting, and interpreting geospatial data that will be used to define property boundaries to support land evaluation, construction, and infrastructure development. This position plays a critical role that requires careful attention to detail, technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience with regulatory frameworks, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), International Building Code, and Department of Defense construction standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent on-the-job experience in surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience as a surveyor, and familiarity with DoD regulations and code standards.
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil construction and roadway projects.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with Real-Time Kinematic GPS systems (Trimble system experience preferred).
  • Licensed or Rs a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of surveying principles and specialized experience in federal or military surveying operations.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred for supervisory role
  • Familiarity with DoD real estate property policies and processes, and facility lifecycle documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning ability, and mentoring skills to train and supervise survey teams.
  • Experience in preparing detailed legal property descriptions and survey documentation.
  • Experience with expeditionary or modular facility sitting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geodetic, topographic, and boundary surveys using theodolites, transits, levels, and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS systems.
  • Interpret and apply UFC and other DoD criteria to ensure survey layouts meet DoD standards and data support compliant facility design and construction.
  • Collaborate with engineers and planners to integrate survey findings into site layouts, grading plans, and utility alignments to resolve boundary conflicts, verify property data, and support design charrettes.
  • Validate existing site conditions against design criteria and regulatory constraints, including DoD Standoff distance, utility easements, and fire protection planning through accurate mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Prepare drawings and review plats, legal descriptions, and geospatial datasets for real properties accountability and construction documentation.
  • Maintain survey logbook, digital records, and metadata for audit and QAQC purposes.
  • Supervise and train survey assistants and direct their work during field surveys and map drafting.
  • Participate in an interdisciplinary design charrette and provide technical input on site feasibility and regulatory compliance.
