About The Position

The Survey Worker plays an important role in supporting Department of Defense personnel during the shipment and processing of Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs). By ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with government requirements, and providing excellent customer service, this role helps ensure a smooth and efficient vehicle processing experience for service members and their families. The Survey Worker also supports survey and data collection activities by gathering and recording information according to established procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in an administrative, customer service, or data collection environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials, facility access, and background checks as required by the contract.
  • Ability to successfully complete the Global POV Administration certification exam annually.
  • Have valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and maintain professionalism when assisting customers.
  • Ability to remain courteous and professional while assisting customers in high-volume or stressful situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use required processing systems (including LASER) within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrated reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a positive customer service attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and guidance to service members, families, and authorized representatives during the POV processing experience.
  • Process inbound, outbound, and storage vehicle shipments in accordance with the Global Privately Owned Vehicle Contract (GPC) and International Auto Logistics (IAL) policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers in completing required forms, verify shipping documentation, and ensure all records are accurate and properly entered into required systems.
  • Conduct interviews or collect information using questionnaires or forms as required for survey or data collection activities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person regarding vehicle shipment status, requirements, and procedures.
  • Ensure vehicles meet destination country requirements outlined in Personal Property Consignment Instruction Guides (PPCIGs).
  • Verify required documentation including identification, Power of Attorney or authorization letters, vehicle title or registration, lienholder authorization (if applicable), and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders.
  • Ensure accurate vehicle documentation including Vehicle Inspection Forms (VIF), shipping instructions, and shipper acknowledgements.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain digital records and photographs for each service member’s vehicle processing file.
  • Ensure vehicles are routed to the correct destination Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).
  • Inform customers of claims procedures and provide required documentation for filing claims.
  • Calculate applicable charges for oversized vehicles or alternate ports and prepare documentation for payment collection when necessary.
  • Perform quality control reviews of POV processing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Download, review, and upload vehicle photos ensuring images are clear and correctly organized.
  • Provide administrative support for POV storage for service members assigned to locations where vehicles cannot be transported.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is properly completed and filed.
  • Perform all duties in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner while supporting team operations.
