About The Position
Clymer Farner Barley (CFB) is expanding its team and is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Surveyor in Training (SIT). This position is ideal for current students or recent graduates pursuing a career as a Professional Surveyor. CFB is recognized as the primary civil engineering and surveying firm for The Villages, Florida, with offices located in Wildwood, Ocala, and Clearwater. The SIT role will primarily be based in Clearwater, but opportunities are available in our other offices as well. As a Surveyor in Training, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various surveying tasks. Your responsibilities will include conducting field surveys, where you will assist in land, boundary, and construction surveys using advanced surveying instruments. You will also be responsible for collecting and processing data, which involves gathering and analyzing field data for mapping and design purposes. Supporting the survey team is essential, as you will help prepare reports, plats, and legal descriptions, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with industry standards. In addition to technical skills, maintaining equipment is a key responsibility, as you will ensure that all survey tools are calibrated and functioning correctly. Adhering to safety and industry standards is paramount, and you will coordinate with engineers and CAD technicians to communicate your findings effectively. This position also emphasizes professional development, as you will be encouraged to pursue training for professional licensure, enhancing your skills and career prospects in the surveying field.
