About The Position

The Surveyor Helper plays a crucial role in supporting survey crews by maintaining equipment and supplies, performing measurements, and assisting in various surveying tasks. This position requires a dependable and self-motivated individual who can work under the supervision of a survey party chief, ensuring accuracy and safety in all assigned duties.

Requirements

• Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented
• Must be willing to travel
• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clears brush with axes and machetes.
• Maintains survey crew vehicle, supplies, and equipment.
• Makes measurements with steel tape.
• Sets up targets and prisms using tripods and optical plummets.
• Holds the level rod for differential leveling.
• Assists other crew members as needed.
• Digs to locate buried property corners or utilities.
• Sets up safety devices for traffic controls and performs flagman duties.
• Acquires and develops knowledge of simple surveying instruments, equipment, and practices.
• Applies basic mathematics in work with survey drawings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
