Survey Technician

About the position

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a member of a survey party engaged in advanced technical work involving the operation of manual and electronic equipment to collect surveying data for preliminary, construction, final, or other related surveys for engineering purposes. Responsibilities

• Perform technical activities required for measuring exact locations of points and areas relating to engineering needs.
• Operate and maintain advanced or standard surveying equipment and electronic instruments.
• Plan project reconnaissance using Google Earth and PennDOT videolog.
• Make field decisions regarding location and recording of traverse points and topography points.

Requirements

• One year of experience as an Engineering Technician or equivalent.
• Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps including duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments.
• One year of experience as a member of a survey corps with an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
