About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Survey Field Technician in our Mason City office. Our survey department is vital to assisting engineers on a wide array of civil, development, municipal and environmental projects. This position is predominantly a field position with opportunities for in-office work and development to a qualified candidate. This position is a support position to our existing PLS and Crew Chief with opportunities for advancement. Requirements

Associate degree preferred but not required.
Knowledge of survey calculations, techniques, and procedures
Valid driver’s license
At least 1 year experience in land surveying is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to follow directions

Responsibilities

Follow instructions on specific assignments, objectives and complex workflows
Perform a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects as directed by PLS or OM
Performs topographic, boundary, and construction surveys as directed by PLS or OM
Review, download, and process field data
Prepare field notes and maintain records
Perform other like duties as assigned by PLS or OM
Communicate with Contractors and the Iowa One Call System
Manhole and Utility inspections
