About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Survey Technician in Rock Island, IL, to support our land surveying team by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. In this entry-level role, you’ll provide office production support across survey activities while assisting office and field staff under the leadership of a Senior Survey Coordinator. Principal Responsibilities Process data using IMEG CAD standards, including evaluation of accuracy, while ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional Monitor field crew’s production and provide quality assurance Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports Provide survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects Prepare cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software Carry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey field work Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworker Observe safety and security procedures Required Qualifications and Skills Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred Prior experience in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry is preferred Work to gain knowledge of survey operations, principles, and practices Knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents Knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended Possess basic oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Survey Team Highlights IMEG’s survey group includes 100+ professionals, including licensed surveyors Experience includes topographic surveys, subsurface utility surveys, geodetic and boundary surveys, right-of-way mapping, and land acquisition services Supports both private and public clients—from municipalities and DOTs to federal agencies Uses advanced tools such as 3D scanners, laser scanners, and drones Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) capabilities support quality mapping of underground utilities to aid in design and conflict mitigation Locations available: Rock Island, IL State of Illinois Salary Range: $51,000 - 84,000 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. Requirements

  • Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
