We are currently seeking: A Survey Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform technical field surveys for land mapping and construction projects. Job Responsibilities: Works with a field survey crew to gather survey measurements and observations, measure bearings and distances, and provide measurements from survey control points. Operates a full range of survey equipment including electronic measuring devices, levels and other technical engineering equipment. Uses Global Positioning System (GPS) base station and rover to develop differential GPS readings with millimeter accuracy of map coordinates; enters data into City Geographic Information System (GIS) database. Maintains field notes of survey work performed; collects measurement data, processes survey information and generates reports and drawings for various engineering and planning projects. Performs as-built and boundary surveys on City infrastructure; sets and verifies survey stakes and monuments; performs mathematical calculations for construction staking and layout. Maintains and updates maps and records; maintains project records and files; generates reports as required. Sets up traffic control signs and markers; follows all safety rules and regulations on the job site. Recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries. Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Regular and timely attendance is required. Other duties as assigned.
