About The Position

We are currently seeking a part-time candidate in our Blacksburg location for a Survey Technician. They will perform tasks related to boundaries, construction, and mapping requirements of survey projects, and assist with uploading and downloading data and maintaining related records in the office. Willing to work with academic schedules for students that are interested. Essential Functions Complete working drawings, design sketches, presentation drawings, diagrams, schedules and other computer generated or drafted documents from prepared drawings (sketches, markups, redlines, etc.) as required on a project for both presentation and construction purposes. Process field data; prepare drawing from data. Maintain a thorough knowledge of architectural, surveying and engineering symbols and graphic standards. Organize layout and coordinate drafted documents. Perform other duties as prescribed by the project manager or director.

Requirements

• Technical capacity.
• Demonstrate professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other computer-aided design software.
• Ability to honor deadlines and work as part of a team.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid drivers license with a clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of GPS and data collection is a plus, but not a requirement.
