About The Position

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Survey Supervisor position within the Survey Department. This role will focus on leading a subset of the department team employees to foster on-the-job leadership development and allow for additional and efficient team growth, while supporting projects. This individual will report directly to the Director of Survey and ROW, interacting closely with other corporate business units such as sales, marketing, account management, and project management. The Survey Supervisor is a self-starting technical leader with expertise in leadership, communication, and resource management. Requirements

  • PLS or LSIT in North Dakota is required
  • 10+ years of direct survey experience
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and timeliness
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills
  • Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to travel
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads all survey activities during the proposal, design, and construction stages of projects that are assigned.
  • Provides project oversight, including managing the survey scope according to technical contracts, assisting in developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Maintains high levels of quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations.
  • Oversees survey activities of team members.
  • Responsible for reviewing project documents, drawings, calculations & specifications, assumes responsible charge as needed.
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership, and technical services oversight for employees in achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops survey staff for growth and development opportunities.
  • Perform individual performance reviews, training, and professional development for team members.
  • Participates and partners with members of the Survey, Engineering, and sales teams throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group, and other departments.
  • Maintains positive client relationships with existing clients.
