About The Position

The Survey Party Chief is responsible for the construction layout for roadway, structures (bridges, wall, culverts, etc.), utilities, and any other related layout for the project. Determine methods and procedures for the recovery of existing survey control and establishing secondary survey control as needed. Operate and maintain all survey equipment including manual and robotic total stations, levels, GPS, and any other survey equipment. Perform layout work competently and accurately as specified. Familiar with Topcon/Leica/Trimble hardware and software or willingness to learn. Mathematical skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Possess an understanding of algebra and geometry. Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations. Excellent attention to details. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Lead with integrity while producing high quality work. Dedicated hard worker with strong work ethics. Team leader Team player Stress Management / Composure This position has supervisory responsibilities. This is field based role. Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pull’s or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work. The role requires some travel. Upon hire, you will be provided with a copy of your specific job description. Requirements

  • 2-4 years’ experience in the surveying industry
  • Field based project execution experience
  • 1 year minimum of construction layout
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment
