About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,000 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Rogers Group is currently seeking a motivated, results oriented, Survey Manager to grow our sitework and commercial grading market located in Gallatin, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety, ethics, and quality.

Requirements

• Education in surveying required degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+years of experience in commercial, heavy/civil project surveying and supervision of other. As well as working in a team environment.
• Knowledge of managing surveying on commercial and DOT work is required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proven sales, negotiation, and customer relations skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proven record of being a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Hold a qualification in Land or Engineering Surveying, or any other related qualifications preferred.
• Experience working on large construction projects through a survey firm.
• Experience with AGTEK, HCSS, Jobsite Take Offs, Uploading of Files -File Conversion.
• Experience with Trimble technology - Base station set up - loading / conversion of field files.
• Experience with drone flights, surveying, mapping, engineering - Drone license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork to ensure the well-being or surveying teams and site personnel.
• Manage survey budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, contractors, and other engineering-related professionals to integrate survey data into construction processes.
• Determine appropriate surveying techniques, such as GPS, Stake Out.
• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure accurate and consistent data collection.
• Develop surveying plans, determine the scope, objectives and methods required for accurate data collection.
• Supervise and lead surveying team by providing guidance, assigning tasks, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Ability to work and communicate as part of a team.
• Demonstrative experience of modern survey instrumentation, including total stations, GPS, data modelling, and manipulation through a survey CAD package.
• A firm understanding of providing survey functions for civil and construction works.
• Strong problem-solving skills when difficulties arise.
