About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Intern to join our team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor's degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, maintain organizational structures, and interact with other design services.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.
• Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking.
• Full use of Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with GIS processes and terminology.
• Prior experience with survey field work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew.
• Ensure quality of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment.
• Operate equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
• Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.
• Record accurate and clear surveying notes.
• Set wooden stakes and iron rods, cut and clear brush, trees, etc.
• Adhere to the company's Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
• Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points.
• Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff.
