Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Intern to join our team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Assist the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew.
Ensure quality of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment.
Operate equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.
Record accurate and clear surveying notes.
Perform physical tasks such as setting wooden stakes and iron rods, cutting and clearing brush and trees.
Adhere to the company's Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points.
Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff.
High school diploma or GED required.
Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor's degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, maintain organizational structures, and interact with other design services.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.
Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking.
