Utility Locator/Surveyor Helper Assists surveyor in obtaining data pertaining to angles, elevation points, and contours to determine precise location and measurements used for construction and locating/marking underground utilities. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for construction and land surveys. Calls out readings or writes station number and reading in notebook. Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number or other identifying marks. Marks measuring points with marking crayon or stakes. Places stakes into ground at designated points using hammer and hatchet Experience locating underground utilities. Experience with calculator and computer. May include working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Requires working safely and following the rules with a good attitude. Requires standing on feet and walking for extended periods of time.
