About The Position

LHB has an opportunity for a Survey Group Manager to join our Public Works Team. The position will be based in our Duluth, Cambridge or Minneapolis, Minnesota office. LHB's Survey Team is dedicated to delivering high quality and reliable land survey and staking services to a wide range of clients. We provide survey services for governmental units such as cities and counties, large industrial and energy clients, and commercial and residential customers. This position will lead, manage and support the growth and quality service that LHB has committed to serving our existing and future clients. The position is preferred as hybrid based in our Duluth, Cambridge or Minneapolis locations. However, fully remote candidates in MN (or ability to relocate to MN within 6-12 months) will be considered under the right circumstances. If outside MN, candidate must reside within the following states that LHB is licensed to do business: CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY and relocate to MN within 6-12 months of date of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or land surveying from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of Engineering or Surveying experience
  • 2+ years' experience as a supervisor
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in MN or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in staffing and resource management.
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

  • Desire to become an LHB Shareholder
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in MN
  • Ability to become licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the following states within 6-months: CO, IA, MT, NE, ND, OK, SD.
  • Experience overseeing or managing survey work for private and public clients.
  • Contract management experience
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client base

Responsibilities

  • Client relationship management and business development
  • Develop and execute strategy to meet key financial performance indicators.
  • Oversee the development of proposals and work scopes for survey work
  • Ensure staffing and resources are available to meet the needs of our clients
  • Lead survey asset management tracking, including fleet vehicles, survey equipment and software
  • Hire, mentor and support project managers, surveyors, and technicians
  • Develop and actively manage group budgets to meet financial targets
  • Ensure LHB QA/QC and safety processes are followed
  • Oversight of billing and collections
