About The Position

LIVIC Civil is currently seeking a Survey Field Technician to support civil engineering and land surveying projects throughout Pennsylvania. This role involves conducting field surveys, collecting precise data, and working closely with survey crews and engineers to support the planning and design of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with survey equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience: 0-4 years experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and survey documents
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and walk long distances on uneven terrain
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Accommodate necessary travel needs between offices on occasion
  • Ability to: Manage time effectively; prioritize and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships, interact effectively with others
  • Adapt to changing work priorities, understand and follow direction
  • Overcome internal and external procedural challenges by offering solutions
  • Strong PC Skills i.e. Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Virtual Conferencing
  • High standards of confidentiality to handle sensitive information
  • Excellent Written and Oral Skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D software
  • Experience with total stations, GPS surveying equipment, and data collectors
  • Experience working on transportation, utility, or construction related survey projects
  • Knowledge of PennDot survey standards or procedures
  • FAA Part107 Drone Certification is a plus
  • Experience with GIS mapping applications
  • Travel to other offices as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction staking surveys
  • Work as a member of a field survey team
  • Take direction from a survey party chief
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment
  • Collect and record accurate field data ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Adhere to PennDOT, local municipal, and other regulatory surveying standards
  • Stakeout construction sites
  • Interact with clients and contractors
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness
  • Other duties as assigned
