About The Position

T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue) is seeking a Survey Field Technician ll to join their survey field tech team in Norcross, GA. This role offers on-the-job training, knowledge, and experience in advanced surveying and mapping technology, providing a career path with opportunities for advancement. Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has specialized in professional surveying and mapping for the acquisition and mapping of 3-dimensional spatial data, supporting the planning and construction of roadways, subsurface infrastructure, and commercial/private land developments. The company utilizes advanced technologies such as GPS, laser and LiDAR scanning, MCGPR, and UAS (drones) to capture quality data and provide professional insights for clients' project visualization, planning, and design. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • 4+ years of experience as a Survey Field Tech I
  • Ability to use standard survey equipment as instructed
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
  • Outdoor work in all climates
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to stand and walk on smooth and uneven terrain for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities to include bending, squatting, etc. related to carrying and operating survey equipment and other tools
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Must be proficient in the operation of total stations, data collection devices, GPS equipment and digital/automatic levels
  • Ability to perform basic survey calculations, including level note reductions, angle and coordinate calculations, etc.
  • Basic comprehension and interpretation of site, boundary, highway and utility plans, maps and surveys, profile and cross-sections, horizontal and vertical curves and contours
  • Clean and maintain survey equipment; GPS, total stations / robotic total stations, digital/automatic levels, etc.
  • Learn the operation of terrestrial LiDAR scanning equipment
  • Load and unload survey equipment and supplies each day
  • Set up survey tri-pods to provide backsite and foresight operations
  • Cutting line
  • Perform safety set-up and flagging operations under the direction of Survey Crew Chief
  • Assist with daily vehicle pre-checks, cleaning, and completing truck sheets
  • Assist with monthly survey equipment inventory
  • Support Subsurface Utility Engineering services as required
  • Other duties as required
