About The Position

DRMP's Surveying & Mapping/Geomatics Division is HIRING and we're looking for entry-level, Survey Field Technicians to join our St. Augustine office. Training & Career Development. Some travel may be required. Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (10-hour shifts); Potential for Overtime.

Requirements

• High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
• Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
• Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines (machete use).
• Adequate knowledge of equipment and the ability to set up for various types of work.
• Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
• Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.

Responsibilities

• Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies that are needed throughout the day.
• Transport and set up the instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey.
• Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
• Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points.
• Measure how far different points are from each other, using tape or electronic equipment.
• Help with the various pieces of survey equipment.
• Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment.
• Operate the surveying equipment with the supervisor's oversight.
