About The Position

We’re looking for a hard-working and dependable Survey Field Crew Assistant to support our survey operations in the field. You’ll assist Crew Chiefs with tasks related to houseline surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, and construction staking. This is a great entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow a career in surveying. Job Description As a Survey Field Crew Assistant, you will: Accurately assist with houseline, boundary, ALTA, tree, wetland, and topographic surveys Work closely with Crew Chiefs and site superintendents Use and maintain all field survey instruments and equipment Upload/download field and calibration data to/from collector Record and file legible field notes and sketches electronically Obtain and read information related to daily project assignments Assist with construction staking and record drawings Stock company vehicle each morning with supplies and equipment Submit accurate daily timesheets and project descriptions Communicate workload and project changes to supervisors Maintain positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and supervisors

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0–2 years of experience in field surveying or construction (entry-level welcome)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Desire to learn and grow in the survey field
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, push/pull, grasp, and feel.
  • Regularly lift up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to read reports and use a computer and phone system.
