About The Position

WSB is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead all day-to-day operations of a survey crew for a wide variety of public and private projects, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. The role involves directing crew operations, interpreting construction plans, ensuring proper setup and calibration, using and maintaining field equipment, operating various types of survey equipment, and managing survey data by uploading and downloading it into a computer or survey controller. Travel, including overnight stays, is sometimes required. WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in Transportation, Community Planning, Environmental, Energy, Municipal, and Construction services, providing solutions across more than 50 complementary areas nationwide.

Requirements

Three or more years of experience in construction, topographic, right of way and boundary surveys
Ability to schedule between multiple projects and communicate with project managers, inspection staff and contractors
Ability to operate Trimble/Leica GPS, Total Stations, and other survey equipment
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

A two-year degree in civil engineering technology or land surveying
Two or more years of crew chief or other supervisory experience
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation/Geopak
Experience performing construction staking on large complex transportation projects
LSIT or a Professional Land Surveyor
