About The Position

Join Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) as a Survey Crew Chief and become a vital part of our dynamic team! In this hands-on role, you'll blend independent expertise with collaborative teamwork, leading field survey projects that lay the groundwork for critical infrastructure and environmental initiatives. In this role you will be expected to work on regional projects located within a +/-2 hour radius from the office location. Under the guidance of a Professional Surveyor, you'll dive into diverse projects, including boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, photo control, route, and construction stakeout surveys. We're looking for someone who thrives on efficiency and safety, ensuring every operation adheres to our high standards. Each day, you'll leverage cutting-edge technology, operating Total Stations, UAVs, Scanners and GPS equipment to meticulously collect data. You'll also be responsible for taking precise notes, creating detailed diagrams, and maintaining our state-of-the-art equipment and survey vehicles. Requirements

  • 8+ years' survey crew chief experience
  • Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station
  • Work requires independent judgment and initiative
  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction
  • Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices
  • Familiarity with Column and Bolt-Pattern layout and as-built surveys.
  • Familiar with detailed Topographic Surveys and ADA Surveys.
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions
  • Some travel maybe required
  • Valid Driver's License
