We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief, with an innovative mindset, strong time management skills, organization, good work ethic, and someone ready to make an impact in the communities ETM serves. The following skills will be required for this position: Lead and manage a survey crew, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and overseeing work performance. Train and mentor junior crew members to enhance their surveying skills and knowledge. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the crew. Coordinate with project managers and surveyors to understand project requirements and objectives. Schedule and coordinate crew activities to meet project deadlines and objectives. Conduct a variety of field surveys, such as topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout surveys. Operate and maintain surveying instruments, equipment, and tools, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors. Perform accurate measurements, readings, and calculations during field surveys. Collect and record survey data, including field notes, measurements, and observations. Ensure the proper documentation and organization of survey data. Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of survey data collected in the field. Verify the accuracy of survey measurements and computations. Conduct checks and review field data for completeness, consistency, and adherence to project requirements. Collaborate with project managers and surveyors to resolve any discrepancies or issues. Promote and adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the survey crew. Conduct safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Identify and mitigate potential hazards or risks in the field. Ensure the proper use, care, and maintenance of surveying equipment. Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and inventory management of surveying instruments, equipment, and supplies. Coordinate equipment needs and availability for field surveys. Ensure the proper usage, care, and storage of surveying equipment. Report any equipment issues or needs to the appropriate channels. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives. Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders regarding surveying activities, progress, and challenges. Provide timely and accurate updates and reports on surveying activities.
