About The Position
We are urgently hiring Survey Assistants to support a long-term initiative, launched in 2014, aims to improve electric grid reliability by relocating the most outage-prone overhead distribution lines underground, primarily in Virginia. Candidates will work on one of the largest distribution projects in Virginia, supporting the largest utility in the state to transition power lines from overhead to underground. This role primarily focuses on the Manassas market.
Requirements
- Experience in labor, utility, and land surveying.
- Proficiency in using total station and GPS equipment.
- Ability to work in construction and field technician roles.
- General knowledge of surveying and AutoCAD.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in survey, mapping, and field work.
- Knowledge of GIS.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in right of way and construction stakeout.
Responsibilities
- Work as a Survey Assistant on a two-person crew, traveling to various sites daily.
- Support this program by assisting in relocating overhead distribution lines underground.
- Operate Trimble equipment and DTS5 data collection equipment for surveying tasks.
- Assist in site visits and construction stakeouts.
