About The Position

Come join our Surveillance Team as a Surveillance Technician / Power Limited Technician, where you’ll install, program, and maintain IP and analog camera systems, networks, and video management platforms across multiple sites. You’ll work hands-on with surveillance, analytics, structured cabling, and system upgrades while supporting critical operations and high-priority service needs. Job Overview: Performs work on Surveillance associated technology systems and equipment for all SMSC Gaming Enterprise and Tribal Organization businesses. This includes but not limited to proper planning, installation, maintenance, repair, commissioning and decommissioning, and documentation of technology and cabling systems and equipment. Ensure all work completed follows all applicable department policies, Gaming Commission regulations, and technology industry installation and safety standards and practices including the National Electrical Code.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Two year degree in Electronics and/or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years’ minimum experience in electronics-related field.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies, cabling standards, and components.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, electrical blueprints, and familiarity of Computer Aided Drafting software (CAD).
  • Basic understanding and/or training on radio communication equipment.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain MN Power Limited Technician license within 1 year of employment.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of PC’s, network switches, and networking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend information and ideas in spoken and written English
  • Ability to obtain certificate for scissor lift, boom truck/lift, and bucket truck/lift
  • Not related to, or involved with, any team members in a cash-handling area.
  • Valid Class D driver's license is required with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, maintain, test, terminate, relocate, and remove IP based and analog surveillance cameras and associated equipment.
  • Install, program, and maintain IP based and analog video distribution surveillance networks, NVR’s / DVR’s and video management system (VMS), video cross-point matrix switch, and associated cabling and terminations.
  • Manage improvement projects as assigned including planning, organizing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Administrate the Video Management System (VMS) software across multiple sites. This includes  managing, configuration, & documentation of server settings, IP device settings, and VMS user group permissions/privileges and access to device or software features.
  • Conduct device specific application installation and configuration changes based on industry best practices, environment, and gaming regulations.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation related to all supported technology systems.
  • Install, maintain, test, terminate, and remove structured cabling systems (data infrastructure) including copper and fiber optic technologies.
  • Install, adjust, and maintain video analytics capable cameras and associated equipment throughout SMSC properties. Complete video analytic device specific software programming for all associated equipment. This includes License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology.
  • Install, program, maintain, test, terminate, relocate, and remove other technology systems equipment to provide high level customer service to the SMSC.
  • Prioritize and complete incoming work orders/help desk tickets as assigned to ensure higher priority technology system issues are addressed in a timelier manner.
  • Creates, manages, and populates multiple maps and saved views on devices so end users can interact with them to monitor assets and facilities.
