About The Position

The duty of the Surveillance Operator is to monitor and report activity within the gaming enterprise. An Operator will observe and report to Surveillance management pertinent information related to suspicious activity related to gaming equipment, patrons, and employees of the gaming enterprise. An Operator is required to follow the flow of money and observe games of chance in a fast paced environment and must possess the skills to track events on closed circuit television equipment efficiently, effectively and on demand.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have computer knowledge using word processing software.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, safety, departmental, and company policies.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off with ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time, use hands, talk and hear clearly, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in CCTV or Surveillance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reports any Surveillance issues to Surveillance Manager and/or Supervisor.
  • Monitors the release of information according to established policy and maintains confidentiality of Casino information.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Stays up-to-date with technological advances in the field.
  • Troubleshoots problems and issues as they arise.
  • Maintains contact with supporting departments, as required, to perform daily job assignments.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of LTBB, and NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards, LTBB/State of Michigan Compact requirements, all gaming operations’ policy and procedures.
  • Monitor each Casino Department’s activities for compliance with Approved Internal Controls and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Follow the flow of money on the casino floor using closed circuit television equipment.
  • Recognize cheating and/or scams associated with gaming or gaming revenue.
  • Adhere to all Departmental and Odawa Casino Resort policy and procedures and attendance guidelines.
  • Fraternization with casino employees and customers will be prohibited.
  • May be required to represent the Surveillance department for any court actions or hearings requiring testimony regarding surveillance dubs.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events of the gaming enterprise.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
