About The Position
The Surveillance Officer plays a critical role in protecting the assets and maintaining the integrity of the company through vigilant monitoring using CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) and direct floor observations. This position requires the officer to observe and report any irregularities, safety hazards, or breaches of security features of the property to the Surveillance Shift Supervisor. The officer is responsible for monitoring gaming and money handling areas, identifying illegal activities such as theft, embezzlement, or cheating by guests or employees, and ensuring compliance with company policies as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations. In addition to monitoring, the Surveillance Officer must answer telephone and radio calls, maintaining accurate and complete logs of all communications and incidents. The role demands a high level of confidentiality and integrity within the surveillance department. Officers are also expected to perform other job-related duties as assigned, which may include operating various surveillance equipment and maintaining a thorough understanding of the operational protocols of the casino. To be successful in this role, candidates must possess strong report writing skills, as documenting situations and events in a chronological manner is essential. Familiarity with the Indiana Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations, as well as internal controls and standard operating procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to work an entire shift in front of multiple monitors, demonstrating reliability, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
