The Surveillance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of casino operations. This position involves observing the activities of casino guests and employees through a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, monitoring all aspects of casino operations, including table games, slot machines, cashiering cages, and count rooms. The officer is responsible for identifying any criminal activity or violations of New Jersey regulations and company policies, documenting these activities, and reporting them to the appropriate officials. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information. In addition to monitoring activities, the Surveillance Officer is tasked with completing detailed incident reports and daily logs, promoting positive public relations, and effectively communicating with responding parties regarding property alarms. The position may also involve performing other duties as assigned, ensuring that all actions adhere to the regulations set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:69D-1.10 and 1.11. Prior to employment in the surveillance department, candidates must sign an acknowledgment of these regulatory requirements. The role demands a combination of technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a solid understanding of casino operations. The Surveillance Officer must be able to perform essential functions of the position, which may include standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying weights up to 25 pounds.
