The Surplus Materials Clerk at Lockheed Martin is responsible for managing the receipt, examination, and recording of surplus material declarations. This role ensures proper disposition and accountability of declared materials by verifying and reconciling data on relevant documents. The clerk will handle various clerical functions related to surplus materials, including preparing sales orders, maintaining bidder lists, and generating reports on sales and revenue.

  • Receive and examine surplus material declaration forms and ensure proper documentation.
  • Sort surplus materials according to contract and classification, and assign sales numbers.
  • Post surplus material information to inventory schedules and prepare necessary shipping paperwork.
  • Prepare material sales order documents for accommodation and scrap sales.
  • Check bidder records for sufficient funds before releasing materials and secure finance approval if necessary.
  • Prepare weekly reports of revenues received and maintain bidder lists for scrap and surplus materials.
  • Type and distribute various clerical documents, including letters and reports, and maintain associated files.
  • Prior experience working with vendors on sales, bids, and negotiations of scrap or surplus equipment.
  • Experience creating and tracking vendor bid lists and purchase orders.
  • Experience handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills with experience in inventory tracking and monetary collections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.
