About The Position

We are seeking talented individuals to join our Operations team at Marsh. This role will be based in Austin, TX. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This Surplus Lines Senior Coordinator role provides an opportunity to develop a career in the Operations of a global insurance brokerage and risk management firm during an exciting time of expansion and transformation. You will be based in our Austin office and will be a part of our Surplus Lines department which is responsible for the support and execution of the filing of Surplus Lines taxes on behalf of Marsh clients and Marsh placing brokers. We will count on you to: Able to clearly articulate issues, problems, and resolutions within this field. Excellent written and oral communication skills – Influencing/persuasiveness – can explain why a process or rule needs to be followed and gain colleague support/change behavior as a result. Quality & Compliance – high ethical behavior; understanding of rules and why they need to be followed but flexible enough to know when a solution is workable. Drive and self-motivation – able to work independently, follow through on a task/complete a project/meet a deadline without direct on-site supervision. Manage and record client and carrier communications in a shared document repository to ensure timely follow up and review by the client team Remain current by understanding and following all Marsh compliance, professional and transparency standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with surplus lines taxes or related tax regulations
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, knowledge of basic Excel formulas, pivot tables, and Outlook organization is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills, exceptional time management skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail is critical to ensure we’re entering accurate information into our forms and systems
  • Ability and aptitude to conduct research
