We are looking for a highly accomplished Surgical Technology Clinical and Lab Instructor to teach our in-person, 10-week Surgical Technology program in Daytona Beach, FL. Stepful’s programs are designed to support students at every step of the way, from getting certified by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) to finding high-quality healthcare jobs. This is a 1099 contract role that requires in-person instruction, so candidates must be local to the program site (Daytona Beach, FL) or willing to travel for the duration of the course. Travel and lodging support is available for instructors who are not local to the program site.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience teaching surgical technology, including course delivery, assessment, and student support
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a clinical setting
  • Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT TS-C certification
  • Experience with digital tools for teaching and reading lesson plans
  • Experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Stellar writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work 30 - 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program

Responsibilities

  • Teach hands-on skills to students in an in-person lab setting
  • Demonstrate proper technique for a given skill and provide live step by step tasks for students to perform
  • Assess students’ lab and clinical competency for skills and provide feedback
  • Review and evaluate the required skills students must demonstrate
  • Communicate regularly with students over email and other communication tools
  • Join weekly meetings to receive guidance and direction from the internal team at Stepful
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and prepare and plan for future modules, as needed
