SUMMARY OF POSITION: Opportunities exist for part-time, non-benefited instructors to teach surgical technology laboratory or lecture courses and supervise student clinicals in the Associate of Surgical Technology Program. Other responsibilities include submitting grades by the established deadlines and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Current Emerging Technologies and/or the Assistant Dean of Current Emerging Technologies - Allied Health.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an education program in Surgical Technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
  • Current certification from the NBSTSA(CST)
  • Registered with the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) as a surgical technologist
  • Minimum of two years of experience in surgical technology practice within the past 5 years
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Good computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, etc., electronic calendar and Email, and strong internet familiarity.

Nice To Haves

  • College teaching experience
  • Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System
  • Experience with non-traditional teaching methods such as facilitating group work, use of inquiry-based and other active learning pedagogies, and/or contextualized instruction.

Responsibilities

  • teach surgical technology laboratory or lecture courses
